Our Year 9 cohort took part in their first workplace encounter of the year with CGI and DWP on Wednesday, 23rd September.
CGI’s Young Dreamers programme connects students aged 12–14 with real-world STEM challenges, mentoring from professionals and hands-on experiences to explore future careers.
The initiative is designed to promote social mobility and help young people understand how science, technology, engineering and mathematics can shape the world around them.
First introduced in Newcastle, the programme is now heading to Blackpool, Aspire Academy being the first school represented.
During our Innovation day, students formed teams and tackled real STEM challenges set by CGI’s government clients, with support from CGI volunteers who ran the sessions.
Our winning teams will now be heading to the Finals Day at the Winter Gardens in November to showcase their ideas and meet local STEM professionals.
