Our school's commitment to community engagement and future careers took a major step forward on Wednesday, 24th June, as thirteen of our Year 8 students participated in a dynamic workplace encounter with Senior Care Hub.
Part of the prestigious JP Morgan Future Ready programme, the day was designed to bridge the gap between education and the professional world, giving students a firsthand look at rewarding careers within the care sector.
Music, empathy and career insights
The day kicked off with an incredibly vibrant, hands-on music therapy session led by the Senior Care Hub team. Our students didn't just shadow the professionals, they actively participated, experiencing how creative therapies are used to improve the quality of life for residents.
Beyond the music, students engaged in vital career discussions, exploring the diverse and growing range of employment opportunities available within the modern care industry.
A powerful new partnership
The impact of the visit was immediate. The Managing Director of Senior Care Hub was so deeply impressed by the energy, empathy and sheer enthusiasm of our Year 8 group that they offered a long-term partnership with our academy to support their residents moving forward. This will form part of the academy' s new enrichment strategy and support our civic and community engagement.
Head start on the future
The success of the day didn't stop there. Two of our students, who expressed a strong passion for pursuing a career in care, stood out so much that they have already been offered Key Stage 4 (KS4) work experience placements with the Hub. This is an incredible milestone for these students, giving them a massive head start on their future career paths before they even begin their options.
Thank you to JP Morgan and Senior Care Hub for providing such a transformative experience for our students. We look forward to seeing this partnership flourish.
