Before half term Aspire Academy’s Performing Arts Company, Pzazz took part in Blackpool Music Service’s Schools’s Alive at the Opera House. They performed scenes from the musical ‘Chicago‘. The performance was fantastic. Everyone involved worked so hard to produce the most polished performance we have had since the last time we performed at School’s Alive just before the pandemic in February 2020.

We opened with a scene from the famous ‘All that Jazz’ bar scene with the overture playing. We then saw the lead character, Roxie, in jail as she viewed the ‘Cell Block Tango’. We then introduced the lawyer, Billy Flynn and the song ‘Both reached for the fun’ and ended with ‘Nowadays’ and the ‘Hot Honey Rag’.

All performers who took part were excellent and received a certificate from Blackpool Music Service for their amazing efforts. We are now focussed on the Summer Show which will be entitled ‘Skool’s Out for Summer’!
