A number of our current Year 10 students were out on vocational taster days at the Skills Construction Centre and BCS Chef's Academy recently. The students have enjoyed each session, produced some fantastic work and have been a credit to Blackpool Aspire Academy and the Fylde Coast Academy Trust. They were all engaged and keen to start their courses in September.

The standard of work produced was extremely high and all the students concerned have now applied and secured places for the next academic year. Aspire Academy teamed up with Unity Academy to form the FCAT Alternative Provision group; the Unity students also enjoyed the courses and they too are looking forward to a September start.

Both the Skills Construction Centre and BCS Chef's Academy have been invaluable in giving our young people the opportunity to try construction and catering training in purpose-built facilities lead by knowledgeable staff delivering a wide range of programmes.

Skills Construction students:
Dom, Jake, Connor and Callum

Chefs Academy students:
Tyler, Joe, Paige and Lewis

This would have never been possible were it not for the time and effort put in by our dedicated staff such as Mr Jenkinson, Mr Tock and all those who covered the taster sessions.
