Last week Mr Calderelli, Miss Eastwood and their groups of keyworker students started on a project to build bridges between students' desks to see if they could pass a ball around using only multilink cubes. With the help of a Rube Goldberg machine video on Youtube the students went away to think of ideas as to how they might be able to build their 'part' of the machine on their desk.

Using equipment from the Science Prep room and objects from home the class discussed ways of how to adapt what they had on their desks whilst keeping their 2m safe distance - the video below is the product of their efforts.

Mr Calderelli and Miss Eastwood are Maths and Science teachers and have incorporate the use of both of their subjects to create this STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) based activity; they only gave the students ideas and left them to think of ways that each of their 'parts' could join together in order for the machine to be successful.

It took two hours of trial and error to make the entire machine work, but as you can see below, it was well worth the effort!
