Pzazz Performing Arts Company performed at Schools Alive on Tuesday, 11th February showcasing the musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie which was a hit in Aspire’s Summer Show 2019. Year 10 Lewis starred in the lead role of Jamie in this musical about a 16-year-old who wants to be a drag queen and all the obstacles he faces along the way - a true story about love, laughter, the struggles of a teenager and how to overcome bullying, fears and stereotyping. The musical and its message is something the Pzazz team hold dear and they were very proud to perform it.

Also, on the night Year 8 Kobi played timpani as part of BASSO, who provide the opportunity for musicians of all ages to enjoy playing in a large orchestra with other talented musicians, in the medleys of The Lion KingKing of Pop and Mary Poppins.

A very proud Miss Mackay beamed, “They absolutely smashed Schools Alive and were amazing ambassadors for the school. I’m so proud of them all; what an amazing night!”.

Schools Alive is an annual event organised by Blackpool Music Service and Blackpool Music Education Hub, this year being the 17th production and held at the Grand Theatre from 10th to 13th February. It is a fantastic occasion that allows students across Blackpool the opportunity to perform on stage in front of a large audience, something that will raise their self-confidence and just might inspire them into a career in entertainment, but if not will give them a memory of a lifetime.
You can find out more at Blackpool Music Service.

Waiting to go on stage
