Congratulations to Grace in Year 11 who, as part of an online competition, has been successful in getting her short story published recently. Earlier this year Grace submitted her short story, The Dust, for a 12-18 year-olds competition on the Young Writers website. She chose the horror genre as she is confident in this area and enjoys writing spine-tingling fiction; The Dust took several hours to write.

After six months and almost forgetting that she had submitted her piece, Young Writers replied to say that she had been successful and a printed copy arrived in the post only last week. The Dust is part of the Ghost Stories series, this one subtitled Grave Encounters.

Grace said, “I’m so proud to see this in print and I’m already working on my next story. I’d really like to explore becoming a full-time writer at a later date.”
