NEU Industrial Action 1 February

Dear Parent/Carer

The impact of the planned industrial action will unfortunately mean Aspire Academy will be open for Years 7, 9 10 and 11 pupils on 1 February.  Parents/carers of vulnerable pupils in year 8, such as those with education health care plans for example will be contacted directly on Monday to offer provision during the industrial action.

Pupils in Year 8 will be provided with suitable work to complete at home during the day.  Unfortunately, no live remote learning will be available due to the industrial action. Details of work being set will be shared as soon as possible.

We anticipate this position will remain the same during the additional days of industrial action on 28 February, 15 March and 16 March 2023.  However, we will rotate the year groups so that a single year groups isn’t affected more than once. Should this change and we are able to open the school to more pupils we will advise you as soon as possible.

If your child is entitled to free school meals and is working remotely on Wednesday 1 February a packed lunch will be available on Tuesday to pick up before leaving school. Further details regarding free school meals will be sent out on Monday.

I apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding whilst NEU members remain in dispute with the Secretary of State for Education.

Yours faithfully
